 ROOTED IN Stillness

Stillness & Steam was created from a deep belief that rest, recovery, and healing should be accessible to everyone—not just those who can traditionally afford luxury wellness experiences.

As founders, Julie and Scott Webb envisioned a space where individuals could step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with themselves through intentional rest, contrast therapy, and restorative wellness practices. Inspired by the healing power of stillness, nature, and nervous system recovery, they created a calm, welcoming environment designed to support the whole person—physically, mentally, emotionally, biologically, and spiritually.

Stillness & Steam is a low-profit, mission-driven wellness center committed to serving those who continually serve others. Special focus is placed on supporting:

  • First responders

  • Teachers and educators

Through accessible pricing and discounted memberships for first responders, the mission is to make restorative healing attainable for individuals experiencing chronic stress, burnout, emotional fatigue, and physical exhaustion.

At its core, Stillness & Steam exists to provide more than relaxation—it exists to create a space for recovery, renewal, and human restoration.

The wellness and recovery industry has grown rapidly as more people seek support for stress, burnout, mental health, and overall well-being. Sauna therapy, cold plunges, and contrast therapy are becoming increasingly popular for their proven physical and mental health benefits.

However, many wellness and recovery spaces are expensive and designed for luxury consumers, making these services difficult to access for the people who often need them most—such as first responders, teachers, and healthcare workers.

Stillness & Steam was created to make restorative wellness more accessible and affordable. Our mission-driven approach focuses on providing a calm, healing environment where individuals can rest, recover, and support their physical, mental, and emotional well-being without the barrier of high-cost wellness pricing.

    Summary of the Market

    Targeted Problems & Opportunities

Many individuals working in high-stress professions—including first responders and educators experience chronic stress, emotional exhaustion, burnout, sleep disruption, anxiety, physical fatigue, and nervous system overload. Despite the increasing need for restorative wellness and recovery services, many people in these professions lack affordable access to environments specifically designed for healing, decompression, and recovery.

Current wellness and recovery services such as luxury spas, private saunas, and contrast therapy studios are often financially inaccessible for middle-income and service-oriented populations. Many existing wellness businesses primarily target high-income consumers and focus on luxury experiences rather than long-term accessibility and community impact.

In addition, modern lifestyles and work demands have contributed to increasing rates of:

    • Burnout and chronic stress

    • Mental and emotional fatigue

    • Physical tension and inflammation

    • Nervous system dysregulation

    • Lack of intentional rest and recovery spaces

    • Limited preventative wellness options

There is also a growing societal need for non-clinical, restorative environments that support overall well-being in a way that feels approachable, calming, and community-centered.

Stillness & Steam is a mission-driven wellness business built on the concept of accessibility, restoration, and community care. Operating under a Low-Profit Limited Liability Company (L3C/LLLC) model, the business is designed to balance sustainable business practices with a strong social and community-centered purpose.

The core strategy of the business is to provide affordable access to restorative wellness services—including sauna therapy, cold plunge immersion, contrast therapy, and intentional rest spaces—for individuals who may not otherwise have the resources to prioritize their health and recovery. Special focus is placed on serving first responders, educators, caregivers, healthcare workers, and other high-stress service professionals through reduced-cost memberships and accessible pricing models.

To support operational efficiency and affordability, Premier Stillness & Steam will utilize Smart Lock Booking technology, allowing clients to independently schedule appointments, complete payments, check in, and securely access the facility through automated smart-lock systems. This technology reduces staffing overhead, improves accessibility, streamlines the client experience, and supports a flexible, modern wellness environment.

The overall business concept combines evidence-based recovery practices, nature-inspired restorative design, and low-overhead technology systems to create an affordable and sustainable wellness experience centered on physical, mental, emotional, biological, and spiritual well-being.

Stillness & Steam’s immediate priorities include completing construction, installing sauna and cold plunge equipment, implementing Smart Lock Booking technology, securing licensing and insurance, and launching marketing and community outreach efforts. Building partnerships with local first responders, schools, healthcare organizations, and community service providers is also an important part of the initial launch and long-term accessibility mission.

Long-term priorities include maintaining affordable pricing while remaining financially sustainable, expanding memberships and community partnerships, managing maintenance and operational costs, and potentially expanding services or locations in the future. Continued investment in technology, marketing, infrastructure, and accessibility programs will be important to support growth and meet increasing community demand.

Funding support would assist with facility development, equipment installation, technology systems, operational startup costs, marketing efforts, and long-term accessibility initiatives focused on serving high-stress and underserved populations.
